Austrade offers webinar for exporters eyeing Malaysia
02 May 2013
The Australia Trade Commission (Austrade) has produced a free online presentation for exporters who want to learn more about business prospects in Malaysia.
Austrade Senior Trade Commissioner in Kuala Lumpur, Susan Kahwati, said the webinar aimed to provide an update of recent market trends and opportunities in Malaysia, including the new Malaysia Australia Free Trade Agreement (MAFTA).
She said Malaysia’s economic success, including average growth of about 7 per cent over the past 25 years, is well documented.
“Many Australian companies have contributed to this economic growth and realised opportunities that have arisen from it,” Ms Kahwati said.
She outlined new government priorities that will seek to further embed Malaysia’s development efforts.
“Malaysia wants to achieve developed-nation status by 2020. Australia has strengths in key industries that public and private-sector organisations need to help realise this goal.”
The webinar and presentation also feature Business Development Managers discussing trends and opportunities in specific sectors, including the role that MAFTA will play in further opening the market for Australian firms.
