Austrade media release 20 November 2009 Four top creative agencies have been short listed for the Australian Government’s Building Brand Australia Program. The short listed agencies are the STW Group, M&C Saatchi, Sapient Nitro, and a partnership between George Patterson Y&R and global brand and design agency Landor. With 60 Expressions of Interest received, the short listing process was competitive. The Building Brand Australia program manager, Ms Theresa Fairman said the evaluation panel was pleased with the high quality of the submissions and believe that the short listed agencies have the credentials and commitment to deliver on this challenging brief. The Building Brand Australia Business Advisory Board has been consulted on the short list and fully supports the panel’s recommendations. “The four short listed agencies will now be invited to tender their proposals, which will include ideas on ensuring that Australia is globally recognised as the strong, fair, future focused and unique nation that it is,” said Ms Fairman. Their creative responses will be assessed with the benefit of both international and domestic research, and the Building Brand Australia Business Advisory Board will once again be consulted. The successful tenderer and idea is expected to be announced in early 2010, with an international launch of the Building Brand Australia Program to take place at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai Expo. The tender evaluation panel is chaired by Austrade and includes senior representatives from Tourism Australia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Building Brand Australia Advisory Board is chaired by Mr David Mortimer and includes Rob Murray (Lion Nathan), Ms Sandra Chipchase (CEO Melbourne Visitors and Convention Centre), Professor Margaret Gardner (Vice Chancellor RMIT), Mr Mark Johnson (Chairman Australian Financial Centre Forum) and Mr Michael Luscombe (CEO Woolworths).
