South Australian Companies Honoured for Export Success
Austrade media release
9 December 2011
Three South Australian firms won awards at last night's 49th Australian Export Awards, hosted by Trade Minister, Craig Emerson in Brisbane.
The Australian Export Awards, co-presented by the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious business award programs.
Austrade State Manager for South Australia, Patricia Moesinger, said the winners had achieved exceptional results, despite ongoing global economic uncertainty.
"I congratulate this year's South Australian winners on their success," Ms Moesinger said.
"Their commitment to quality and innovation serves as inspiration to all aspiring exporters in the state. These awards are richly deserved."
The winning companies are:
Codan Limited won the Information and Communication Technology Award.
Codan designs, manufactures and markets electronics products for governments, sophisticated consumers and humanitarian organisations around the world. Over 85 per cent of its revenue is derived from exports to more than 150 countries. Codan is based in Newton.
Prism Defence won the Small to Medium Services Award.

It assists with the integration of helicopters and ships, providing training, flight trials, certification and engineering analysis. This year the company began a major project with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Prism Defence is based in North Adelaide.
Almondco Australia won the Regional Exporter Award.
