pdf icon Data Alert: IMF reaffirms resilient economic outlook for Australia The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reaffirmed the resilience of the Australian economy in its latest World Economic Outlook (WEO). In its WEO April 2013, the IMF has forecast Australia’s real gross domestic product (GDP) to grow 3 per cent in 2013 and 3.3 per cent in 2014, even in the face of a weak and uneven global recovery. The IMF forecasts are well above average projected growth rates for the world’s major advanced economies of 1.3 per cent in 2013 and 2.2 per cent in 2014. Global real GDP growth is expected to reach 3.3 per cent on an annual average basis in 2013 and 4 per cent in 2014 – broadly unchanged from the January 2013 WEO Update. Activity has stabilised in advanced economies and has slightly picked up in emerging market and developing economies, supported by policies and renewed confidence. 100 03/05/13 Reports and analysis
