AUSFTA helps with big savings for crop protection business The United States is the world’s largest market for crop protection products – worth some $8.57 billion each year. From small seeds big things grow In 2003, four friends with a unique set of skills between them started a new venture called Seed Genetics Australia. Its aim is to breed, produce and market improved pasture and fodder proprietary products. Within two years, this vertically integrated company with the slogan, 'From Glasshouse to Warehouse', was a finalist in the 2005 Austrade Export Awards and won the 2005 South Australia Emerging Exporters Award. Better nutrition for horses West Australian-based vet, Dr David Wood, has spent a life-time in South East Asia. For many years he was in Brunei, taking care of the Sultan of Brunei's stable of prize horses. Today, Dr Wood is using his veterinary expertise and his knowledge of this part of Asia in his business, Icarus Export, which ships into a number of countries in the region, including Thailand.
