China’s growing demand for a broad range of Australian services exports was reflected in this year’s AustCham Westpac Australia-China Business awards in Hong Kong.
All seven winners were Austrade clients, including OTEK, which received the Austrade Business Promotion Award.
OTEK, a leading environmental, engineering and pollution remediation consultancy was recognised for its success in becoming one of the first foreign companies to work on Chinese government-funded remediation projects.
OTEK Director Grant Scott said strong relationships and communication were crucial to its success in China.
“We are proud to receive this recognition of the hard work and dedication the OTEK team have put in to helping the strong Chinese investment drive in sustainability and the environment,” Mr Scott said.
“The cutting edge technology and solutions we can offer have helped set OTEK apart from other providers across the world.”
The Awards were presented on October 27 during a ceremony attended by Australia’s Ambassador to The People’s Republic China, Frances Adamson.
The winners and many of the finalists came from a range of industries that reflect China’s new growth areas.
These include logistics, finance, design, clean technology, education, leisure, health and other services catering to an increasingly affluent, urbanised and environmentally aware population.
