Australia ready to say G'Day USA

G’Day USA: Australia Week 2007, the largest foreign country promotion held annually in the US, gets underway in Los Angeles tomorrow with a host of Australian companies showcasing their talents and products to tens of millions of Americans.
Australian delights such as Ollo olive oils, Grant Burge and St Hallett wines, Boag’s beers, Greg Norman Wagu Beef and Byron Bay Chilli sauces will all be featured. The talents of E-type Jazz, The Veronicas and cast members of Priscilla the musical will also draw attention to Australia’s creative capabilities at events being held in Los Angeles and New York, 11-20 January.
Kylie Hargreaves, Austrade’s Senior Trade Commissioner in Los Angeles, said “Australia Week will provide enormous exposure in the US media and promote the talents of Australian companies to millions of American consumers from coast to coast.
“Australian's don't have to be shy about tackling the massive US market as we offer world-class products and services in fashion, technology, food, beverages, entertainment, education and energy.
“Well prepared, focused and determined businesses can succeed in this large and competitive market and tap into the more than $41 billion in annual two-way trade between Australia and the United States,” Ms Hargreaves said.
Australian celebrities such as The Wiggles, Terri and Bindi Irwin, Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, The Veronicas, Ian Baker-Finch, Naomi Watts and many others will use their high profile to get Americans to tune into Australia and our high quality and innovative products and services.
