Australian mining manufacturer cracks Chinese market
24 Mar 2011
Mine refuge chamber manufacturer, MineARC has begun exporting into China’s underground coal sector after gaining Chinese government safety standard certification.
The Perth-based company constructs stand-alone, air conditioned refuge chambers for the mining sector. Its ‘CoalSAFE’ refuge model has been approved by the Mining Safety Approval and Certification (MA) centre in China.
Whilst the CoalSAFE units are undergoing final adjustments before being installed in underground mines in China, MineARC has supplied about 30 air conditioner units to its Chinese partner company, SYCCRI.
The air-conditioning units are core parts of the chambers that are going to be assembled in Fushun, China and then supplied to mines in Liaoning and Shanxi provinces.
The Chinese government has been overhauling the safety of its coal mining sector.
MineARC’s General Manager, Mike Lincoln said the company’s certification in China is a huge milestone, adding that MineARC was the first refuge manufacturer to be approved in China.
Austrade has been working with both MineARC and SYCCRI for several years, including the provision of translation, facilitation and market intelligence services.
