Australian outward investment case study

After close collaborative work with Austrade, Termicam Australia (Termicam Pty Ltd) opened an office in Brunei Darussalam recently. Termicam is a Melbourne-based company that has developed a new technology to detect termites in houses and buildings. Termicam’s use of state of the art thermal imaging offers a fast, non-destructive and environmentally-friendly method of successfully locating termite infestations.

As a franchise network operation with both domestic and international offices, Termicam sought Austrade’s assistance in developing a market entry strategy for Brunei. In 2007, Austrade successfully introduced Termicam into the country through a local operator, ISS Facility Sdn. Bhd., which provides pest control services.

With Austrade’s continued assistance and in-market support, Termicam was successful in obtaining market intelligence and access so it could set up its Brunei franchise office.
