EMDG applications

2014-15 grant year - applications open 1 July 2015 to 30 November 2015.

The EMDG grant application process uses a online system which is available via a link on this page.

Please note: as of 1 July 2013 hard-copy paper-based grant application forms will no longer be accepted.

Before commencing your online application:

  1. Obtain an AUSkey to enable your business to easily and securely access the new on-line system.
  2. Make sure you are able to upload documents in support of your application. You will need a scanner, to convert any paper documents to pdf.

Note: If you are engaging an EMDG Consultant to prepare your application, you do not need an AUSkey yourself.

The application form is best viewed using Mozilla Firefox (latest 2 versions - Firefox automatically updates). Also acceptable is Windows Internet Explorer 9+, Safari 5.0+.

Google Chrome is not supported by AUSkey, so is not recommended.

Microsoft release a new browser called 'Microsoft Edge' with Windows 10, Microsoft Edge is not supported for AUSkey and is the default browser for Windows 10 operating system. You are still able to use Internet Explorer (IE) 11 with Windows 10. To select IE11 go to start=> All applications=> Windows=> Internet Explorer. Read more about AUSkey browser compatibility.

Minimum screen resolution of 1280 x 600.

To prevent errors, please do not use your browser “Back” button to move between pages in the application form.

Austrade must receive your completed application form and required documents between 1 July 2015 and midnight 30 November 2015 Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) i.e. Canberra time, or midnight 29 February 2016 Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) if your application is lodged through an approved EMDG Consultant. Grants consultants usually charge on a success fee basis.

Your application is only received by Austrade when you click the green "SUBMIT" button at the end of the form.

In addition to our regular opening times, the EMDG enquiry line, 13 28 78, will be open on Saturday 28 November from 9am to 5pm, Sunday 29 November 9am to 5pm and Monday 30 November 9am until 8pm - all times AEDT.

REMINDER:  You must click the green "SUBMIT" button on the final screen of the application form in order to lodge your application.  When lodgement has successfully completed, an official receipt will be provided on-screen.  The on-screen receipt will be will be conclusive evidence of successful lodgement of the application.  It is essential that applicants save and print this receipt as proof of lodgement. 

Where no receipt has been issued by Austrade, the attempted lodgement will be deemed to have been unsuccessful.
