Beijing 2008 Olympic Games switched on with Dynalite

Business Club Australia Success Story

DynaliteDynalite has been selected as the lighting control system of choice in ten Beijing 2008 Olympic Games venues, ensuring the light shines on Olympic sports including soccer, fencing, baseball, softball, and hockey as well as at the Olympic Press and Convention Centre.

Dynalite was in a strong position to tender after successfully lighting numerous Sydney Olympic sites and with over thirteen years experience importing and supporting the Australian designed and manufactured lighting control products into the Chinese market.

Dynalite’s proven track record in stadia and Olympic venue applications and the focus on a hi-tech and green Olympics helped them win these impressive contracts.

All the Olympic venues with Dynalite lighting employ ‘switching technology’ - simple on/off controls for lighting, which provide maximum energy savings.

Dynalite Chairman Mr John Gunton is proud to be involved in the construction of the Beijing 2008 Olympic venues.

“This great event doesn’t just belong to Chinese people, but also to the whole world,” he said.

“It’s our great pleasure and responsibility to provide stable and advanced solutions for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, following our success at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. I am sure that both athletes and audiences will find our systems work well, and I wish the Beijing Olympics the greatest success.”

Despite the fact that China contains a large number of local, relatively inexpensive manufacturers, Dynalite has been chosen for these projects due the reliability and functionality of its product, and its superior reputation worldwide.

Dynalite is already associated with dozens of top tier projects in China, such as the Shanghai Olympic Club (China’s first lighting control system, installed in 1995), the Global Financial Tower (world’s tallest building in 2007), China’s first three platinum 5-star hotels, the National Grand Theatre (the world’s largest dome), the Lhasa Railway Station, the China Petrol Tower (world’s largest DALI lighting control system), the Guangzhou International Convention Centre (largest exhibition venue in Asia) and the Diaoyutai Hotel (hospitality for China’s state guests).

In the last three years, Dynalite China Intelligent Lighting Control System has committed to more than 1,500 projects throughout China, including over 160 four and five-star hotels, nearly 100 government and top office buildings, over 50 sports facilities, over 50 convention and exhibition centres and in various other venues such as restaurants, museums, libraries, shopping centres and residences.

Dynalite China General Manager Mr Jimmy Du said that Austrade’s support was valuable to Dynalite’s successes in China.

“Austrade has always been a greater supporter of and witness to our successes in China,” Mr Du said.

“Austrade assisted us with an introduction to Jin Mao Tower back in 1997, and through architecture seminars and meetings organized by Austrade Shanghai. Key meetings with Guangzhou Municipal Government leaders were arranged through Austrade Guangzhou and we have also had great support from Austrade Beijing on many key projects,” Mr Du said.

“Dynalite China is a great example of how Austrade helps Australian small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) succeed in the China market.”
