Business Club Australia

Business Club Australia Case Study

nSynergyIn March 2006 Melbourne hosted the Commonwealth Games. As the official program creating business opportunities, Business Club Australia (BCA) held 57 business networking events, hosted over 3500 members at the BCA venue at Champions, Federation Square, and generated $5.6 million in business deals.

The Corporate Hospitality Program delivered as part of BCA Melbourne 2006 was an outstanding success. This initiative partnered Australian businesses with potential customers, giving them the chance to build a relationship while sharing the excitement of a sporting event.

nSynergy is one company who found BCA’s Corporate Hospitality Program in Melbourne to be a winning combination.

Established in January 2003 by present day directors, Karl Redenbach and Peter Nguyen-Brown, nSynergy is now a world leader in building, implementing and supporting collaborative business solutions. Clients include many of the Global 100 companies with support being provided in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific regions.

nSynergy has developed technologies that are technically novel and innovative by creating the world's first P2P (peer to peer) collaborative network utilising leading technologies such as .Net and XML Web services. Its core software application, LegalNet®, allows the legal departments of major companies to collaborate with external outsourced firms in real time.

A regular award winner, nSynergy won the 2005 Microsoft Global Export Potential Award, which recognises quality Australian software, and a high potential business model.

“We are based in Melbourne, and the Commonwealth Games provided a brilliant opportunity to promote our business to an international audience,” said Mr Redenbach.

“We participated in BCA’s business matching program, and took a key customer, one of Europe’s largest network providers, to watch a Commonwealth Games boxing match.

“We are a small company and we are trying to get in with the big players in the overseas market. You need to gain their trust. Spending time with them is a great advantage and BCA provided a well organised program that gave us that edge, definitely. A sports environment encourages relationships – it brings people together.”

Austrade advice helped nSynergy expand into Europe, and now their attention is on Asia.

“It’s going to be big!” says Mr Redenbach. “We are a Microsoft certified partner, and we see great opportunities in this market.

“We recently opened an office in Shanghai, and we’re working with one of Shanghai’s universities, so the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games present a valuable opportunity for us to continue to build our business in China,” said Mr Redenbach.

“Once again we plan to be involved with Business Club Australia through the Corporate Hospitality program.  Mixing business with sport has already worked very well for us.”
