Burkina Faso education market profile
Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in west Africa, with one of the lowest GDP per capita figures in the world.
Much of the country's economic activity is funded by international aid. Agriculture represents 32 per cent of its gross domestic product and occupies 80 per cent of the working population.
Education is divided into primary, secondary and tertiary. The cost of schooling, at about CFA50,000 ($97 USD) per year, is out of reach of most Burkinabè families, and the rate of literacy is very low.
