France education market profile

France is the third largest source of international students from Europe studying in Australian universities, English language colleges and vocational education and training institutes, and is an important academic, research and exchange agreements partner.

An Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Qualifications (AMRQ) between France and Australia was signed in 2009. Australia and France signed a Working Holiday Maker Agreement in 2003.

France is Australia's fastest growing source of working holiday makers, with around 20,000 young French citizens visiting Australia each year under the scheme.
