Agent workshop provides updates
18 Jul 2012
The Korea 2012 Agent Workshop run in conjunction with the Queensland Government saw a focus on agents less experienced in Australia and highlighted online training and updates in current issues affecting the study in Australia market.
The workshop comprised online training by International Education Services and updates on Future Unlimited branding, the Australian Qualifications Framework by Australian Education International, the Knight Review by DIAC and group discussion sessions for 150 agents over two days. The first day was tailored to focus on 100 agents who were less experienced with Australia, while the second day was specially designed for around 50 qualified education agents and presidents/senior managers of key agents. The focus group discussed current issues affecting the Study in Australia market and the roles of agents in promoting Australian education and training.
Opened by Mr Brett Cooper, Senior Trade Commissioner, the event offered an opportunity to convey that Australia values the contribution that agents make to international education, as well as the expectations on them to deliver their services in the most professional and informed way possible.
Feedback from the two day workshop was very positive. Participating agents observed that the workshop was very helpful, particularly in the context of the challenges stemming from the current economic climate.
The workshop will be followed up by two Australian education specialist information sessions in September 2012 and January 2013 respectively, with the next agent workshop scheduled for April 2013.
