Agents receive briefing on Australian education
08 Apr 2013
Brazilian agents strongly influence students’ international study choices, as well as facilitating the student visa process. Recent workshops provided by Austrade and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship sought to engage Brazilian agents as an important source of information for prospective Brazilian students.
The majority of Brazilian students and parents seek advice from local education agents when making decisions about international education options. Agents strongly influence choice of destination country, institution and field of study, as well as facilitating the student visa process.
Austrade and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) actively engage with education agents in Brazil through annual workshops and bi-monthly newsletters.
The most recent workshops, held on 11 and 13 March in northeast Brazil, focused on providing agents with the latest information on:
- Austrade’s strategy and priorities for Brazil
- market opportunities
- market trends
- Future Unlimited brand
- facts about Australia education to assist with promoting Australia as a high quality study destination to Brazilian students.
There was an opportunity for agents to learn more about Australian visas in a session presented by DIAC. Agents were encouraged to become qualified education agents by completing an online education agent training course offered by Pier Online, as well as by applying for a licence to use the Future Unlimited brand.
