27 Sep 2013
A total of 1480 Chinese graduate students attended the Australia China Careers Fair, which took place in three Australian cities last week. The event was organised by Austrade in conjunction with Zhaopin.com, one of China’s largest human resource service providers.
The Careers Fair was hosted by UNSW in Sydney, RMIT in Melbourne and QUT in Brisbane. Eighteen Australian universities participated in the Australia fair, showing strong support for their graduates’ career outcomes. Zhaopin.com, Nu Skin, National Engineering Research Centre for Rubber & Tyre, ANZ Bank, CPA Australia attended the fair and company representatives conducted on the spot interviews with university graduates who had registered to attend the event.
Zhaopin also represented Weichai Power, Oxylane (Decathlon) and Scope International (China) for on-campus recruitment. Nearly 100 positions have been advertised on Zhaopin.com, covering a range of disciplines and generated great interest from the graduates.
China Careers Fair 2013 and Understanding Talent Recruitment in China Tour
Australian universities are invited to participate in the upcoming China Careers Fair for Australian graduates to be held in Guangzhou on 14 November 2013.
Austrade continues to develop the program for the fair and is pleased to advise that it will partner with Guangzhou Tianhe government agency. The Tianhe Human Resources Service Association will give a presentation at the fair to brief graduates about policies to entice returned Chinese graduates to work locally. The theme of ‘entrepreneurship’ will be one of the features of the event and a site visit to the Tianhe District Entrepreneurs Park is being planned for graduates attending the fair.
Austrade is targeting the top 40–50 companies in China to participate in the China Fair.
Complementing the China Careers Fair 2013 will be the Understanding Talent Recruitment in China (UTRC) Tour for careers counsellors and industry engagement officers of participating universities. The UTRC Tour provides an opportunity to visit well-known companies in Beijing and Guangzhou to establish corporate links and better understand talent recruitment needs.
