First agent briefing in Mongolia on Australian education
28 Jun 2013
Mongolian agents have been briefed on Australian education for the first time. An Austrade-organised education agents workshop, held on 24 June in Ulaanbaatar, was attended by over 20 agents and institutions. The workshop provided agents with the latest information on Australian education, Austrade’s strategy, market opportunities and the Future Unlimited brand for the promotion of Australia as a high-quality study destination.
As the number of Mongolian students studying overseas has increased significantly in recent years, Mongolian agents have become a strong influence on students’ international study choices, and are involved in facilitating the student visa process.
Austrade’s workshops sought to engage Mongolian agents as an important source of information for prospective Mongolian students. In a session by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), agents had an opportunity to learn about Australian student visas. Agents were encouraged to become qualified education agents by completing an online education agent training course offered by Pier Online, and to apply for a license to use the Future Unlimited brand. The participating agents were awarded a Certificate of Merit by Austrade.
Together with DIAC, Austrade plans to continue actively engaging education agents in Mongolia. For information on agents in Mongolia, contact Ms Solongo Dashdendev, Austrade Ulaanbaatar.
Australian providers interested in the Mongolian market are encouraged to participate in the Australia Future Unlimited: Education Fair Mongolia from 27–28 September. Registrations close 1 August 2013.
