Research synergies between Australia and Brazil
21 May 2013
The 25th annual meeting of the Brazilian Association of International Relations Offices (FAUBAI), held from 28 April to 2 May in Natal, Brazil, focused on the push towards internationalisation by Brazilian universities and the role played by Science without Borders.
An invitation for Austrade to speak at the conference saw Trade Commissioner São Paulo, Sheila Lunter, deliver a presentation on synergies in research collaboration between Australia and Brazil.
The conference program was followed by a day of ‘speed dating’ between Brazilian universities and international universities. American universities attended in force, with 25 institutions represented, followed by Canada with 14 institutions present. Australia had one representative each for the Group of Eight and the Australian Technology Network, with only University of Queensland represented individually.
