ASEAN workforce skills employer survey 2013 - Executive summary

20 Aug 2013

Inside the report

The ASEAN Employer Survey project began in early 2013 with the aim of interviewing employers on their skill needs, current training arrangements and extent of engagement with local and international providers.

An initial online survey of companies was undertaken in Indonesia in partnership with TAFE Directors Australia (TDA). Austrade also engaged the services of a regionally based market research organisation, Spire Research and Consulting to interview companies across five additional markets in the ASEAN region over a three month period from March-June 2013.

This executive summary outlines the approach taken, the sectors of focus in each market, and some of the high level findings of the overall survey project, which involved interviews with more than 300 employers in six key markets across the ASEAN region (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam).

Reports specific to the six countries surveyed will be released separately.
