Indonesia Australia Business Week 2017

Indonesia Australia Business Week 2017

The second Indonesia-Australia Business Week (IABW) 2017, held from 6–10 March, built upon the success of the inaugural IABW held in 2015.

Led by the Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, a delegation of 130 senior Australian business representatives participated in five targeted sectoral programs:

  • Agrifood supply chain
  • Financial services and technologies
  • Resilient cities
  • Tourism: destination development (Austrade-led) and promotion (Tourism Australia-led)
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The business mission comprised 57 events over five days in five Indonesian locations: Jakarta, Malang, Surabaya, Lombok and Bali. Sectoral programs featured seminars, roundtables, site visits, product showcases and opportunities for networking with Indonesian businesses, industry and government.

Three other Australian ministers participated in IABW, including the Hon Fiona Nash MP, Minister for Regional Development, Minister for Local Government and Territories, the Hon Luke Hartsuyker, Assistant Minister to the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Hon Karen Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills.
