Indonesia Australia Business Week 2015
The Indonesia Australia Business Week (IABW) 17-20 November set a new bar for trade and investment ties between Australia and Indonesia.
The Hon Minister Robb AO MP led a 360-strong business delegation - the largest ever to visit Indonesia. The size and composition of the delegation signalled a new willingness to make the effort to realise the complementarities between our large, growing economies. The ambition of the venture was unprecedented covering four Indonesian cities, 110 events, 25 site visits and 200 speakers across four days.
Three other Australian ministers participated in IABW, including the Minister for Tourism and International Education, Richard Colbeck; Minister for Health, Aged Care and Sport, Sussan Ley; and Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Peter Dutton. The Deputy Premier of Queensland also attended, as did two State Ministers and Leader of the (State) Opposition, all from South Australia.
IABW featured eight stream where closer bilateral trade and investment ties are most promising:
- Advanced Manufacturing (Automotive Aftermarket)
- Agriculture (Food Sustainability Partnerships)
- Education and Transnational Skills
- Healthcare and Seniors Living
- Infrastructure (Urban Sustainability and Transport Connectivity)
- Premium Food and Beverage
- Resources and Energy
IABW events were held in Jakarta, Yogyakarata, Makassar and Bali.
