Indonesia Australia Business Week 2017
The second Indonesia Australia Business Week (IABW) will take place across multiple cities in the week of 6–10 March 2017.
Led by The Hon Steven Ciobo MP, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, IABW will comprise a range of trade, investment, education and tourism events. With negotiations continuing to progress the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, IABW is the ideal event for Australian businesses to explore the diverse commercial opportunities in Indonesia.
Jakarta, with a population exceeding 30 million, dominates the economic landscape but the frontier of growth in Indonesia is second-tier cities such as Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, Balikpapan and Denpasar, which are recording close to double-digit growth. With a population of more than 255 million – more than half of whom are under 30 years of age – Indonesia has one of the largest consumer markets in South East Asia.
Five sector-specific programs will be held with some sub-streams within these sectors. The IABW 2017 program will feature seminars, roundtables, site visits, product showcases and opportunities for networking with Indonesian businesses, industry and government.
