Australian export case study

Australian software which automates the creation of trade-related documents has resulted in a significant time-saving for Hong Kong’s leading e-commerce services company.

Tradelink, the electronic services provider primarily owned by the Hong Kong Government, is reaping benefits with customised software designed by Canberra-based Intelledox.

The Intelledox software automates the creation of trade-related documents, thereby eliminating consuming manual processes.

“This represents a big timesaving for us,” said Tradelink CEO, Justin Yue.

“The Tradelink electronic gateway is expected to support almost 20 million transactions a year with trade partners from all over the globe.”

Mr Yue said that all but two per cent of Hong Kong exporters are classified as small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs). “Many Hong Kong companies do not have high levels of IT skills and resources, so our services have to be affordable and as easy to use as possible.

“The Intelledox product provided us with a solution.”

Founded in 1991, Intelledox is a leader in the emerging field of automated document creation and output management software.

“Our software significantly cuts the time it takes to create, customise and distribute a document,” said Chief Marketing Officer for Intelledox, Phil Jacobs.

How Austrade helped

Intelledox has worked closely with Austrade over a number of years.

“Austrade’s support helped our profile and gave us credibility with the Hong Kong government,” Mr Jacobs said.

“This made a world of difference when we met with an important client such as Tradelink.

“In Hong Kong, as an independent Australian software developer intent on expanding export opportunities, we found that Austrade’s support was crucial.”
