Success in Qatar for Australian recruitment software

Australian export case study

A sustained marketing effort over several years has brought success in Qatar for Australian recruitment software specialists, Recruitment Systems.

ACT-based Recruitment Systems was established just over ten years ago with a bespoke recruitment solution – TRIS – an easy-to-use database which covered simple recruitment needs such as executive search and temporary staffing.

Today, the company’s software has developed to meet the much more sophisticated needs of the recruitment industry, from resume parsing, applicant tracking and customer relationship management systems to administrative controls for securing intellectual property.

For the past three years, as part of Recruitment Systems’ international marketing drive, the company has taken part in GITEX – the largest ICT trade show in the Middle East.

“This has been a turning point for us in selling into this market,” said Neil Bolton, Recruitment Systems’ CEO.

He said that Austrade Dubai had helped with on-the-ground support at GITEX, as well giving the company legal advice and providing market analysis.

“Then, during our most recent visit to this part of the world, Austrade assisted us again in the appointment of an agent for the Gulf States,” Mr Bolton said.

“Based in Doha, Qatar, our agent is now generating leads across the region. Apart from sales to new clients in Qatar, we have also recently sold into Lebanon and are in active discussions with prospective clients in Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

“None of this would have been possible without the support of Austrade and the EMDG scheme,” Mr Bolton said.
