Christchurch CBD District Energy Scheme proposed
Christchurch City Holdings, the infrastructure investment arm of the Christchurch City Council, is seeking Expressions of Interest for the delivery of a District Energy System (DES) for central Christchurch.
DES use heat generated centrally and distributed through either a network of pipes, or via a series of hubs, to buildings in the district for space heating, hot water and air conditioning.
These schemes are common internationally and the rebuilding of central Christchurch provides a unique opportunity to establish one in a major metropolitan centre.
Firms interested in submitting an Expression of Interest can do so via the New Zealand Government’s Electronic Tenders Service by August 29, 2013.
