Australian aviation expertise raises interest in Poland

To leverage synergies between strong Polish and Australian aviation capabilities, Austrade Warsaw in conjunction with the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO), organised a networking function and a series of business to business meetings at the Paris Air Show. These activities have established a strong platform for further bilateral cooperation between Australian companies and potential Polish business partners.

At the Team Defence Australia stand, representatives of the Australian aviation sector hosted a large Polish delegation. Air Marshall John Harvey and Mr Marek Darecki, the President of the Aviation Valley in Poland, encouraged more than 60 people to learn about each other’s business capabilities and to identify opportunities to build stronger commercial partnerships between Australian and Polish firms. Mr Darecki invited Australian companies to consider partnering with Polish companies as the industry in Poland is strong and needs assistance to increase its volume of production.

Business to business meetings between Polish and Australian companies, indicate that cooperation opportunities exist in composites, airport equipment, new casting technologies and many other areas. Following on from the Paris Air Show, it is expected that continued cooperation and commercial opportunities will be developed between the companies in Aviation Valley and Australian businesses.

Aviation Valley’ is Poland’s largest aviation cluster numbering over 100 companies. Aviation Valley brought a strong representation of the Polish aviation industry to the Paris Air Show.

The Paris Air Show is the world's premier and largest event dedicated to the aviation and space industry. It brings together all the industry's players across the globe to showcase the latest technological innovations. 2013 marked the 50th edition with 2,000 exhibitors, 350,000 visitors and more than 150 aircraft conducting air shows.
