Australian export case study
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has found the Nuix solution to its needs for forensic investigations of large volumes of data and email quickly and efficiently and make sense out of the information.
Nuix forensic desktop and enterprise solutions rapidly index an entire corporate email and document archive and make it available for instant search and discovery.
Users have complete knowledge and control over all corporate communication and documentation, enabling them to immediately and effectively respond to compliance, regulatory and internal investigations.
“Our system runs 10-20 times faster than nearest competition and is easier to use because we designed it to be used by non- IT-literate people,” CEO Eddie Sheeh said.
“When the Department of Homeland Security seeks to investigate the contents of a suspicious computer hard drive, for example, they start by using one tool.
"Then they use a different one to further validate results and our functionality complemented their larger arsenal of tool sets."
Nuix also leveraged their success with the Australian Government to win the DHS business, after delivering for the:
-
Department of Defence
- Australian Tax Office
- Australian Security and Investments Commission (ASIC)
- Australian Customs Service.
They then introduced Nuix to US Customs and Border Patrol within the DHS in 2006.
Mr Sheehy praised the contribution of the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement (AUSFTA) to Nuix’s success in government contracts.
“When an American government customer purchases, they prefer to purchase from America. AUSTFA took away those perceptual and regulatory barriers, so our product can be purchased easily and more simply.
“Even though our program’s unique forensic capabilities transcends sales barriers, AUSFTA took away the red tape that would have been there. If the bureaucratic issues aren’t solved, the software won’t be sold.”
“The Austrade Selling to Government team gave us a lot of advice on how to handle the mechanics of landing and closing the government contract; we met with them New York and Washington D.C. before we did the initial sales call.
And we are still working with the connections that Austrade gave us to government investigative organisations across the United States and using those leads to market to other parts of the U.S. government."
