Leonie Muldoon is currently the Senior Trade Commissioner, Tokyo and Japan Country Manager for the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade), overseeing a team of over 40 highly qualified Trade Commissioners, Investment Commissioner and Japanese business development managers, spanning a network of 4 offices across Japan.
Leonie is a lawyer by profession having been a Partner with Mallesons Stephen Jacques in their Sydney Banking and Finance practice. Leonie originally joined Austrade in 1993, as Investment Commissioner for Japan and later North Asia responsible for inbound investment from the region to Australia.
After leaving Austrade in 1998, Leonie carried responsibility for leadership and management of a range of businesses in diverse sectors spanning call centres (Sitel Corporation-CEO Australia and COO Asia Pacific), consulting, training (General Manager Professional Service-Standards Australia, later SAI Global) and online legal publishing (CEO-TimeBase).
Leonie re-joined Austrade in February 2012 in her current role.
Leonie holds a Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Law with Honours from Monash University, and a Master of Law from Columbia University in New York.

As an Investment Manager based in Osaka, Cindy Lineburg is the primary contact point for potential investors interested in becoming involved in construction or financing of Australia’s substantial pipeline of major infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on transport-related infrastructure to meet the needs of Australia’s growing population. Other sectors of interest for western Japan-based investors are tourism infrastructure development and e-health associated with the roll-out of the National Broadband Network (NBN).
As an Australian with over 15 years of experience working in the public sector in Japan - 10 of those working for Austrade’s Osaka office - Cindy has assisted more than 100 companies with the development of successful business relationships in Japan. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Law and Japanese. A native English speaker, Cindy is also fluent in Japanese, having gained a Level One Japanese Language Proficiency Test Certificate.
