Manuel Barbera joined Austrade Madrid as a Business Development Manager - Investment in November 2011. Before joining Austrade, Manuel lived in Australia for several years where he worked for the Catalan Trade Promotion Agency, the Spanish Trade Commission, and a major Spanish infrastructure company established in Australia.

Earlier, Manuel was an import/export coordinator for an international European fashion retailer and a project coordinator for a productivity and quality assurance consultancy firm in Mexico DF.

Manuel holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and Trade and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He is a native speaker in Catalan and Spanish.

Auriol Seaton commenced working for Austrade Madrid in 1989 and during this time has assisted trade clients in developing their export marketing strategies into the Spanish and Portuguese markets across a wide range of industry sectors including defence, education, automotive, information technology, telecommunications, construction, transport, marine, seafood and security.

As from 2011 Auriol has been focusing on attracting productive investment into Australia in the advanced manufacturing sector (aeronautical, automotive, rail and composite materials) and developing R&D networks in the water management and food technology sectors.

Prior to joining Austrade Auriol worked for an American financial services company and a Spanish company representing overseas companies in the naval engineering and food machinery sectors.

Auriol is a native English speaker and holds qualifications in commercial Spanish and French.
