David Crook commenced as Australia’s Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner in London in August 2012. This position includes responsibility for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Israel.

The primary roles of the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) in London are to: attract investment into Australia in targeted industry sectors; promote Australia’s international education capabilities and; assist Australian companies seeking to enter the UK market, through referrals to local specialist business advisors.

David's previous roles at Austrade have included Consul General and Senior Trade Commissioner in Atlanta, with responsibility for the south-east of the United States; Corporate Secretary; Chief Information Officer; and Trade Adviser to Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Tim Fischer MP.

David has also developed and managed programs, in conjunction with industry associations, focused on encouraging businesses to commence exporting, and to increase community awareness of the value to the community of international trade.

David holds Masters degrees in Business Administration and Commerce, is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Julianne Davis

Julianne Davis is part of the Austrade’s investment team United Kingdom. Julianne works with business development and International Strategy executives within large corporations and SMEs to create the business case for Australia within the tourism infrastructure sector. Prior to this Julianne led the construction and engineering, clean technology, and professional and financial services portfolios in the UK.

Julianne’s previous experience in Austrade includes trade and investment work in the fast moving consumer goods sectors. Prior to this she was a manger in the heritage and leisure industry with The National Trust and prior to that she held a strategy role with the national housing group, The Guinness Trust.

Julianne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the West of England and is a British national.

Kathleen Devereaux

Kathleen Devereaux is a member of Austrade’s investment team in the United Kingdom. Kathleen works with UK institutional investors and engineering construction companies to access FDI opportunities in major infrastructure in Australia.

Kathleen’s previous experience with Austrade includes trade and investment work in the education and creative industries sectors and business development with the World Bank and the United Nations. Prior to this she was a project manager for an education organisation, The Washington Centre, and an analyst for DAC, a Washington-based international development consultancy.

Kathleen holds a Master of Arts in African Studies from the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and German Studies from Tufts University in Boston. Kathleen is an American national and speaks fluent German.
