US clean energy mission taps into Obama’s US$150 billion package13 March 2009Australian firms are acting to take advantage of the Obama-Biden New Energy for America plan, which will invest US$150 billion over ten years "to catalyze (sic) private efforts to build a clean energy future." Grame Barty, Austrade Regional Director – Americas, said Australian clean energy expertise was advanced in several areas, especially carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), geothermal, biomass and solar-thermal. On ABC-TV’s Lateline Business program, Mr Barty said Australia's scientific community was also well regarded in these areas.
