3 July 2009
The Dubai Export Development Corporation, in association with Austrade, has launched an 'Islamic Financial Services Mission' to introduce Islamic financial products and services to Australia.
The Islamic banking segment of the global financial services market was established in 1975 and now accounts for more than $700 billion in assets from over 300 financial institutions across 75 countries.
Saed Al Awadi, CEO of the Dubai Export Development Corporation, said that Australia was chosen for the first trade mission of Islamic Financial Services from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“We are optimistic that this Islamic Financial Services Fact Finding Mission in Australia will open avenues for UAE-based companies to export Islamic products and services,” Mr Al Awadi said. |
