6 July 2009

US aerospace manufacturer, Insitu Inc., has announced the opening of the Insitu Pacific office in Queensland to service the Asia Pacific.

Based in Bingen, Washington, Insitu designs, develops and manufactures Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for military and commercial applications.

Insitu Pacific will conduct a wide range of activities which include UAS Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) services, as well as sales, training services, and payload modification and production.

Insitu’s CEO Steve Sliwa said that “the establishment of Insitu Pacific is a testament of the commitment we have to serve Australia and the Asia Pacific region and is an expansion of the capabilities we now provide to the Australian Defence Force”.

Insitu Pacific has begun local payload development and modification activities based on more than 20,000 ScanEagle flight hours with the Australian Defence Force.
