Australia welcomes foreign investment

Australia welcomes foreign investment, the Australian Treasurer, Wayne Swan, told an Australian National University ‘China Update Conference’ in Canberra recently.

“Foreign investment is a necessary part of harnessing the investment opportunities that exist in Australia,”  Mr Swan said.

“Foreign investment not only provides additional capital for Australian growth,” he added, “it is also a source of additional competition, of new technologies, management and marketing techniques, and of skills development.”
