Australian four major banks’ ‘AA’ ratings have recently been affirmed, and are among 9 banks of the world’s 100 top banks with a AA or above rating. Australian banks have dealt with the global financial crisis better than banks in many countries due to Australia’s high prudential standards, Australian bank focus on mainstream domestic activity and limited exposure to exotic derivatives.
