Australian Government funds ‘Climate Ready’ grants worth $20.6 million 20 November 2009 The Australian Government has funded 32 grants for business projects worth $20.6 million under the ‘Climate Ready’ Program. The Climate Ready Program offers matching grants from $50,000 to $5 million to support research and development, proof-of-concept and early-stage commercialisation activities to develop solutions to climate change challenges. The Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Senator Kim Carr, said that the funded projects will achieve concrete objectives such as reducing energy use and carbon emissions, and promoting water recycling and waste recovery. The funded projects include: - to Lang Technologies (Queensland) to develop an industry solution to water and energy wastage in food processing;
- to Cube Consulting (Western Australia) to develop an innovative, web-based environmental management, monitoring and reporting system; and
- to Aqua Guardian (Victoria) for innovative equipment to prevent evaporation on large-scale water storage areas.
