Australian Government publishes Pocket Guide to Australian Tax System 17 December 2009 The Australian Tax Office has published a Pocket Guide to the Australian Tax System which can be downloaded as an Acrobat PDF or in Microsoft Word. Dr Matthew Durban, Austrade’s Senior Trade & Investment Analyst, said the new Pocket Guide would provide a useful reference for international investors doing business in Australia. “The guide clearly shows the breakdown between Australia’s federal, state and local governments where tax revenue is concerned,” he said. “It also explains the history of tax instruments in Australia, and covers other important information such as income tax rates, the Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST), and excise rates.” More information |
