Dutch aquaculture feed company invests in Australia 6 April 2010 Nutreco Holding NV, the Netherlands-based animal nutrition and fish feed company, is investing EUR $20 million to upgrade its Tasmanian facility. This investment will double Nutreco’s Australian factory capacity to 120,000 tonnes per annum, and covers the installation of a second extrusion line, the upgrading of silos, site services and batching equipment. The company has reported that since it acquired its Australian fish feed activities in 2001, annual growth of fish feed volumes in the region has been 10 per cent. Knut Nesse, Nutreco’s Executive Vice President for Aquaculture said, “Our customers in the region have expanded significantly over the past few years. This investment clearly demonstrates our commitment to support their growth.” A global leader in animal nutrition and fish feed, Nutreco employs 10,000 people in 30 countries, sells to over 80 countries, and had annual revenues of EUR 4.5 billion in 2009.
