‘Investment Management Industry in Australia’ published 22 July 2010 A comprehensive report, Investment Management Industry in Australia, has just been published by Austrade’s Financial Services division. Gary Johnston, Austrade’s Global Industry Network Leader for Financial Services, said that Australia’s investment management industry is the fourth largest in the world, and one of the fastest growing. “This is an industry which is worth A$1.7 trillion and is projected to grow to around A$2 trillion by 2015.” Mr Johnston said that Australia’s sophisticated investor base, mature and innovative financial markets and efficient regulatory environment contribute to this sector’s growth, which is underpinned by a government-mandated retirement scheme (superannuation).
