Two leading global organisations have chosen NICTA , Australia’s largest ICT research organisation to form alliances on niche research and development.
NICTA (National ICT Australia) and German IT security specialist secunet (Security Networks AG) signed a research agreement to develop high-security IT products for the defence and government sectors.
It will combine secunet’s experience in high-security devices with NICTA’s expertise in formal verification and secure microkernel technology. The German market leader in its field, secunet has been the security partner for the German Federal Government since 2004.
Additionally, DB Schenker, a leader in global logistics, will collaborate with NICTA to improve productivity in the transport and logistics sector identifying a number of potential projects to tackle in this area.
Partnering with NICTA’s Future Logistics Living Lab in Sydney, an innovative and physical ICT demonstration space, DB Schenker plans to use NICTA’s optimisation expertise to complement its complex fleet management, truck routing and warehousing processes, aiming to drive cost efficiencies and potentially reduce CO2 emissions.
“We are excited to be working with NICTA to review our IT systems and processes to support growing business demands with a modern IT infrastructure and architecture,” said Ron Koehler, CEO of Schenker Australia Pty Ltd.
