Swedish ICT company opens headquarters in Australia

The Swedish-based Handheld Group has opened its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Sydney, Australia, to provide a local presence and take advantage of proximity to Asia.

Handheld Group supplies rugged mobile computers and Personal Data Assistants (PDAs) to the forestry, mining, logistics, construction, transport and military sectors.

Handheld APAC Pty Ltd will provide local support, sales and marketing services and use the Sydney office as a springboard into other Asian markets.

CEO and Chairman of the Handheld Group, Jerker Hellström said, “As a company with a global focus, we seek to expand our reach to serve the growing world market for rugged mobile computers.

“Our Sydney based subsidiary will provide a strong resource as we expand our presence across the Asian market.”

The company has appointed Christian Löfvendahl as Managing Director of Handheld APAC Pty Ltd. Mr Löfvendahl has a Master’s Degree in International Business from the University of Queensland in Brisbane.
