Canada’s ATCO expands into Australia

7 April 2011

Canada-based company ATCO has opened a new branch in Perth, Western Australia, to take advantage of energy, power generation and infrastructure growth opportunities in the Australian market.

Along with ATCO’s three power generation plants in Australia, the company will focus on building, acquiring and operating new energy and infrastructure assets—using existing expertise in transportation and distribution of natural gas and electricity—and natural gas gathering, processing, storage and liquids extraction.

ATCO Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Nancy Southern said, “Steady growth in Australia’s energy and mining industries make Australia the perfect fit to expand our successfully diversified business model.”

She said the aim was to build on ATCO’s current Australian capabilities and pursue new greenfield opportunities.
