London companies choose Australia for new headquarters
28 April 2011
Two UK companies are moving their headquarters to Australia to take advantage of the opportunities in the Australian market and the country’s proximity to other Asia-Pacific nations.
Carbon Trade Exchange and its sister company, Ventura Carbon are moving their headquarters from London to Sydney.
Carbon Trade Exchange provides an online marketplace for voluntary buyers and sellers of carbon credits to offset emissions and become 'carbon neutral'.
Ventura Carbon provides specialised corporate advisory services for projects in the energy efficiency, water, sustainable agriculture and forestry, energy from waste and geothermal sectors.
Carbon Trade Exchange Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wayne Sharpe said, “We chose Sydney as the most strategic location for our global headquarters given its status as Australia’s global city and an Asia Pacific finance hub.”
The NSW Government helped secure the deal, with assistance from the Office of Trade, Business and Industry.
