Euro Auctions meet demand down-under
6 December 2011
Industrial equipment auctioneers, Euro Auctions, are set to establish their southern hemisphere base in Australia with a site planned for Queensland.
The Irish company’s new site in Brisbane will host four auctions per year, catering to an increasing demand for plant and construction equipment in Australia and Pacific Rim economies.
Euro Auctions General Manager, Jonnie Keys, said the company’s decision to establish a base in Australia is motivated by strong demand for equipment from the mining sector as well as its customers’ desire for stronger links between the United Kingdom, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
“Euro Auctions has a strong international seller and buyer base, with an existing contingency of customers who consign to other Euro Auctions sales and will consign to the new auction facility in Brisbane,” Mr Keys said.
“We also have a loyal Ex-Pat following now working in the Australian construction and mining sectors who are familiar with the Euro Auctions brand, and will create local awareness in the region.”
Austrade works with international companies to encourage and facilitate foreign direct investment in Australia. Austrade worked alongside Trade and Investment Queensland to support Euro Auctions in its move to Australia.
