Global expansion sees Germany’s congatec set up in Australia
27 September 2012
German manufacturer of industrial computer modules, congatec AG, has established an office in West Burleigh, Queensland as it enhances its presence across Australia and New Zealand.
Since commencing operations in December 2004, congatec AG has demonstrated strong global growth, recording revenues of €48 million in 2011.
The company’s industrial computer modules are used in a variety of industries and applications, such as industrial automation, medical technology, automotive supplies, aerospace and transportation.
With an economy growing at more than 3 per cent, the Australian market offers congatec AG opportunities in the gaming sector, agricultural equipment, traffic control and medical technology sectors.
Gerhard Edi, congatec CEO, said recently appointed country manager for Australia and New Zealand, Alvin Tan, would oversee expansion in the region as well as ensure existing customers are supported with industry-leading sales, marketing and technical service and support.
“So far congatec has been selling into the Australian market through a network of resellers. In line with our strong sales performance and ongoing expansion strategy the time is right to establish a direct sales presence as well,” Mr Edi said.
With offices recently established in both Australia and Japan, congatec’s presence now extends across the Asia-Pacific (Australia, Taiwan and Japan), Europe (Germany and Czech Republic) and North America.
