Global technology company selects Sydney as its Pacific HQ

7 December 2012

Sydney has been chosen as the Pacific Rim headquarters and the first international office of Canvas, a global leader in mobile apps for business.

Canvas’ Sydney office which opens this month will be staffed by local content and business development talent and plans to hire customer support personnel in Sydney.  This will allow the US-based company to offer 24/7 customer support for its thousands of global customers.

The Pacific Rim was identified as a key component to the company’s aggressive growth strategy, and the optimal launching pad for the company’s expanding global initiatives.

James Quigley, the company’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, said “we have many customers already in Australia, including hundreds of small businesses and larger enterprises who are using Canvas’ business apps to replace inefficient and expensive paper forms.”

Andrew Stoner, NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade & Investment, welcomed Canvas’ decision to select Sydney as their Asia Pacific regional headquarters.

“This investment will create 25 new full-time and 10 part-time jobs over the next three years and help contribute to the State’s growing reputation as Australia’s digital and ICT hub,” Minister Stoner said.

“Canvas provides a platform for innovation in the mobile application space, which is revolutionising a number of industries important to our State economy including education, healthcare and professional services, and we are excited to welcome them to Sydney and to New South Wales.”
