German company to open its first solar energy plant in Australia
6 February 2013
Belectric, the German solar energy company which develops turn-key, utility-grade solar power plants, has received planning permission to build its first solar power plant in Australia.
The plant, to be built in Mildura, Victoria, will have a 5 MW capacity.
‘The planning permit is the first step toward implementing further solar projects in Australia,’ said Nir Dekel, Managing Director of Belectric Australia.
Solar Voltaic Engineering consultancy, Clean Technology Partners, will play a decisive part in the entire technical process. ‘Australia offers excellent conditions for photovoltaic energy production and is one of the growth markets of the future,’ said Clean Technology Partners’ Managing Director, Lachlan Bateman.
Headquartered in Kolitzheim, Germany, and represented in eighteen countries around the world, Belectric is a leader in the design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of ground mounted solar power plants and roof mounted photovoltaic systems.
