Data Alert: Australia tops OECD Better Life Index
6 June 2013
Australia has topped the OECD’s quality of life index for a third straight year, according to the 2013 survey.
In its annual Better Life Index, the Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) does not provide an overall ranking, but if all indicators are totalled and given equal weighting, Australia ranks the highest of 34 OECD countries.
The index shows Australia at or near the top of most of the 24 indicators, which include jobs, income and housing data, as well as overall life satisfaction and sense of community.
