Canada’s Enersight expands to Australia

Canadian oil and gas software provider Enersight Corporation has expanded to Australia, opening its first office outside North America and underscoring Australia’s attraction to resources technology companies.
Alberta-based Enersight provides field development planning software for the oil and gas industry, including shale and other aspects of the unconventional oil and gas industry.
Enersight has opened in Brisbane, in addition to its offices in Calgary, Alberta and Houston, Texas.
It made the decision to expand to Australia after attracting a second Australian client that converts coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG). The company said that adding a second CSG-to-LNG client made it the dominant player in Australia’s unconventional field development planning market.
“In addition to its large coal seam gas projects, Australia has a burgeoning unconventional industry for shale gas and oil,” Don Merritt, Vice President for Enersight Australia, said.
"Being the dominant player in the North American shale gas planning market, we are very excited by the potential for growth for Enersight in Australia," he added in a statement.
Enersight is the largest upstream full-life, field-development modelling software company. It models oil and gas projects from onshore to offshore, including massive unconventional projects. For unconventional oil and gas clients, the company provides a workflow that allows them to accurately model their upstream schedule, production and surface network through constrained facilities including the associated capital and operating costs, helping operators understand their development options and value drivers.
